Reno Omokri, Femi Fani-Kayode and other Nigerians have reacted to an interview in which Nigeria's Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed said he's not aware of the 'Protection from Internet Falsehood and Manipulations Bill' which is now known as the "Social Media Bill".



In the interview in London, DW's Tim Sebastian pointed out that the bill has some draconian provisions in which journalists can be imprisoned for publishing content.



In his defence when asked if he is against the bill or not, Lai Mohammed asked Tim who the author of the bill is. He added that he is not aware of the bill.



Tim Sebastian who wondered why a Minister of Information will not know if such bill exists, fired back by stating that the bill is causing an outcry internationally. Lai Mohammed however vehemently stated "there's no such bill before the house, I can say that with relative authority".

God forbids a woman from checking her husband's phone - Nigerian soldier writes

A Nigerian soldier, Bilyaminu Ladan Mada took to Facebook to share his thoughts about privacy in a Muslim marriage.



The soldier stated that God permitted men to marry up to 4 wives if they wish to.



Bilyaminu also stated that God forbids a woman from checking her husband's phone, while he can check hers. He said the reason for this, is because the man is at liberty to marry more than one wife.



He wrote;




Good Afternoon ladies and gents. Sorry, I just want to drop this here. For the Muslims, God the Almighty permit a man to marry up to 4 wives if he so wish and can do justice. So dating a lady outside doesn't mean/qualify that am cheating on my wife. For the fact that she is the only one at home shows that I can bring three more.

Cheating is when u are having extra marital affair pls. Ladies that feel their husbands are cheating on them because they are dating another girl aside having them as wives, my question to u is "is ur husband having 4 of u?"

Also note, it is forbidden for a wife to check her husband's phone but very much allowed for a husband to search his wife's phone. The reason is "he is at liberty to marry more than a wife, so is possible he has a girlfriend and if the wife see their chat or messages, she will be hurt.

So to avoid violence, God forbids her from checking his phone. But for the husband, he can check her phone because she only belong to him and it is believe she does have any secret to hide from him in that phone that will hurt him. So pls lets understand.

The attack was done by about 20 balaclava-clad supporters who are said to be members of United's notorious 'Men In Black' hooligan firm. The fans launched fireworks and a smoke bomb before spray painting his gates red in protest of how he has been running the club since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.







Luckily for Woodward, 48, his wife, and their young twins were not at home when the thugs attacked the property.







Cheshire Police have now launched an investigation after the attack by hooded thugs



In a statement, Police said: "At around 10.45pm on Tuesday, 28 January, Cheshire police were notified of an incident of criminal damage that had taken place earlier this evening with a large group targeting a property in the Nether Peover area,"







"Thankfully no-one was harmed and officers will liaise with security officials over the coming days to establish the full circumstances surrounding this incident and identify those involved."



Manchester United in a statement condemned the "unwarranted attack" and threatened to ban those involved in the act.



"We know that the football world will unite behind us as we work with the police to identify the perpetrators of this unwarranted attack," the club said.

"Anybody found guilty of a criminal offence, or found to be trespassing on this property, will be banned for life by the club and may face prosecution.

"Fans expressing opinion is one thing, criminal damage and intent to endanger life is another. There is simply no excuse for this."

Guineans seek President Buhari's help to stop their 81-year-old president's 3rd term bid

The Guinea Conakry community in Nigeria have asked President Buhari and other African leaders to help stop the 81-year-old President of their country, Alpha Condé, from actualizing his dream of seeking a third term in office.??

Condé, who is Guinea’s first democratically elected president, threw the country into great turmoil recently after he announced plans to seek a referendum to extend his stay in office.??

At a protest held in Abuja, the Leader of the Guinea Conakry community in Nigeria, Mohammed Bah, said


“We are calling on ECOWAS, African Union, United Nations and other African leaders to prevail on Condé to hand over governance.?? The President wants to tamper with the constitution and by the end of his second term, he is trying to organise a referendum to have another 5-6 year term so that he can be president for life and create a kingdom for himself. But all Guineans across the world are against it.

I want to send a message from Abuja that the times are critical for us in Guinea Conakry. Things are very bad there. The country is burning. We are calling on the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari and other African leaders to put hands together before the country burn down.

The international community should intervene now before it is too late. Someone needs to stand up now. We wish this message would be heard.”



Condé was elected as President of Guinea in 2010 for a five-year term. He was reelected in 2015 and his tenure is expected to elapse in December this year.
