Photo: Nigerian man arrested in India for committing car fraud through OLX

A 45-year-old Nigerian national and his local accomplice were arrested by Bengaluru Cyber Crime Police, India on Wednesday, July 5, for committing car fraud through declassified ads site OLX .
Augustin Anyeva Peter, who came to India on a 15-day travel visa, took photos of luxury cars parked in posh areas of the city and posted the images on OLX, pretending to "sell" the cars at very low rates and accepting advance payments from prospective customers.

He and his gang snapped pictures of high end cars parked outside malls and hotels and uploaded the images on OLX and attracted customers with a reasonable to very low selling prices.

A 35-year-old local resident was also arrested in connection to the fraud case. Police booked Jagadish Kumar of KR Pura for activating a SIM card with duplicate address provided by Augustin.

Augustin used many duplicate addresses to open bank accounts. He'd given the same photo to all banks with different names.

When customers called Augustin to enquire about the car sale, he would spin a lie and tell them he was a foreign student who had just completed his education and would be returning to his native country, so he's looking to sell his vehicle.

Taken in by the Nigerian's tale, customers transferred advance money into his bank account.
As soon as he received the payment, Augustin would debit the amount and deactivate his SIM card.

Pastor forces abortion on member, after impregnating her

A Rhema Ministries pastor in Chinhoyi, Zimbabwe is currently enmeshed in an adultery scandal with his lover after he allegedly impregnated and forced her to terminate it.
According to H-Metro, Pastor Jonah Marecha is reported to have impregnated one Hannah, a member of his church who he promised to marry but later asked her to terminate the six-weeks old pregnancy.

Pastor Marecha was said to have secretly met a gynaecologist identified as Ashton Goredema and paid him the sum of $30 as a fee for inquiries concerning the pregnancy termination.

Speaking to H-Metro, Hannah said the overall leader of the church, Prophet Tinashe Mugonda, threatened to kill her if she dared to expose Marecha.
“I was threatened with either death or poverty if I was not to comply with Jonah’s orders to abort the pregnancy. Jonah referred me to doctor Goredema at Chinhoyi Hospital and I questioned why he wanted to do such an evil act and he told me he had already paid for the procedure.'
'I have my WhatsApp and audio conversation with the doctor and that of prophet Mugonda, who is always threatening me for exposing their evil acts in the church.'
'Prophet Mugonda is now saying Rhema is an interdenominational group not a church and Jonah is not one of his pastors after I threatened to expose his secrets that included dating church members along with his junior pastors. My health was affected following the abortion and I’m facing complications.'
The accused pastor refused to comment on the allegation but H-Metro claims they have a WhatsApp conversation between Jonah and Hannah.

Confirming the allegations, Prophet Mugonda, the head pastor of the church said the issue was brought before him but described the accused pastor as only a member of the church as well as Hannah.
“This issue was brought to my attention, but I could not handle it to its fullest since we only met the two at interdenominational prayer meetings only. As for Jonah and Hannah visiting the doctor for abortion that I am aware of, Jonah is only a church member and not a pastor as what Hannah wants people to believe. The issue is being handled at family level as far as I know.” said Prophet Mugonda.

As for Dr. Goredema who was accused of facilitating the abortion, he denied his involvement saying:
“I am a gynecologist, but I never facilitated Hannah’s abortion, I do not know her and neither do I know Jonah whom is said to have paid me,” said Dr. Goredema.
“I only handle issues that come through the hospital, not the back door,” he added.

Ugandan pastor who sets thousands of Holy Bibles ablaze for misleading his members, has been sued

Recall in April, we reported the news of Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of House of Prayer Ministries in Uganda, who allegedly burnt thousands of holy bible in his claims that they were misleading his members. See photos here
Now a lawsuit has been filed against him in Nabweru court for violating Christian’s freedom of worship by burning several versions of the Holy Bible.

In the lawsuit, some pastors representing over 200 Christians are seeking a court declaration that Bugingo’s acts or omissions of burning and destroying the Holy Bibles are illegal and unlawful, as it injures their religious feelings.

The pastors also contend that Bugingo’s actions are an attack and insult to all Christians who believe in the Bible.

They want the court to issue a permanent injunction, restraining Bugingo and his servants from further burning and destroying Bibles of several versions and making utterances, speeches, sermons or statements concerning the Holy Bible in a way that attacks, violets or insults their faith or religion.

The pastors also want the court to award them damages at a rate of 25 percent from the date of judgment until payment is done and costs of the suit.

In the court document sighted by New Vision, it was stated that on April 4, 2016 (Easter Sunday), Bugingo collected or gathered several Holy Bibles of different versions, translations, and languages with the word Holy Ghost or missing scriptures and advised his flock or followers who are ‘not strong’ to burn or destroy it.

Nabweru court chief magistrate, Esther Nasambu who will preside over the case, has given Bugingo 15 days to file his defence on allegations of violating Christian’s freedom of worship by burning several versions of the Holy Bible.

Photographer sues Kendall and Kylie Jenner over Tupac photos used in their T-Shirt line

Los Angeles-based photographer Michael Miller has filed a lawsuit against Kylie and Kendall Jenner for copyright infringement over the use of his photos of the late Tupac Shakur on T-shirts sold under their Kendall + Kylie brand, according to court documents obtained online.

The suit, filed in federal court in California on Friday, says that Michael Miller, described as “a renowned professional photographer with a remarkable body of work” , “at no time sought to associate his work with Kendall or Kylie or any of their companies, yet they "have misappropriated and wrongfully exploited at least two original photographs of late hip-hop artist Tupac Shakur, slapping the iconic photographs on garments and overlaying them with dubious imagery and text," then offered them for sale.

Adding that they ripped off his photos of Tupac Shakur for their since-pulled line of shirts.

Nonetheless, the suit continues, the Jenners misappropriated two photos he took of Shakur.

The Jenners “at no times notified Miller that they intended to exploit his photography, let alone obtained his authorization,” the suit continues. “This unauthorized usage constituted copyright infringement, amongst other things.”

The Jenners pulled the T-shirt line, which featured images of Shakur, Biggie Smalls, Ozzy Osbourne and other artists, shortly after introducing it, after widespread criticism.

The suit is seeking unspecified damages.

The complaint was submitted by Miller's attorney, Scott Alan Burroughs.
