Man shares inspirational story of how he sponsored an orphan he met during Youth Service through University

Facebook user, Emeka Nobis, took to his page to share his inspirational story. Read below:

"I served my fatherland after university in Omagwa, Rivers State. I taught Physics and Mathematics to SS 3 students of Community Secondary School, Imogu. That was where I met Wali Endurance. I passed out in 2005. He is the kind of student a teacher would love to have. Punctual, obedient, and enterprising, he became a student I loved. He won my heart when he promised me never to fall to the temptation of exam malpractice. Imagine a situation where your mates were allowed to cheat because their parents pay mercenaries or put them into special rooms. I returned to Omagwa in 2011 to learn that NC couldn't go to university because no one could sponsor his education after the death of his parents. My wife and I decided there and then to take on the responsibility. It wasn't rosy all through, having to pay fees, doll out feeding allowances and monies for books and others. I remember selling my car in 2015 so that I could pay his fees. I'd been stretched financially and I couldn't get loan from the company where I was working. The only option left was to sell the Toyota Camry. When I resigned from my job, he was a bit worried. I told him not to bother that he would finish schooling, even if it meant working my hands to the bones. Today, NC joined other graduands during the convocation ceremony at University of Port Harcourt. As we took pictures, drank and danced, my heart leapt for joy to see the pride in the eyes of his siblings and extended family. A few tears escaped my tear ducts. While leaving, I left a few words with him, "Since I've helped to light your own candle, do well to light the candles of others, even if it is one soul." I'm very happy today. God knows I'd love to be like Bill Gates because when I hear what he does for humanity through his philanthropic gestures, I pray for such. But I rest in the fact that I do what I can at my own level while I depend on God to enlarge my coast. When we touch hearts around us in the small ways we can, we bathe the world with kindness and peace".

Photo: Woman arrested for aborting her third-trimester fetus

A 43-year-old woman in Virginia has been charged for allegedly aborting her third-trimester fetus and burying the remains in her back yard. Michelle Frances Roberts was indicted by a jury in Chesterfield County on a felony charge of producing an abortion or miscarriage with the intent to destroy her unborn child.
Police said they received a tip in February 2016 that human remains were buried in the back yard of a home in the 6200 block of Philbrook Road. Investigators later contacted Roberts, who confirmed their report.

Forensic investigators later excavated a small area of the yard where they found the fetal remains, police said, adding that they had been disposed of roughly six months earlier. Police determined that Roberts had the abortion during her third trimester, but it was unclear how the procedure was performed.

Roberts, who was arrested last Wednesday, remains held in a jail in Chesterfield County. A status hearing on her case has been scheduled for April 24.

Outrage from 'feminists' as Kendrick Lamar releases his new song where he tells women to be proud of their natural look

Rapper Kendrick Lamar debuted his new single “Humble” last week with an extravagant music video, which majority of people praised. However, there has been major backlash from some 'feminists' who are unhappy with Kendrick’s lyrics in the second verse of “Humble.” In the verse he said..

“I’m so f*cking sick and tired of the Photoshop/Show me something natural like afro on Richard Pryor/Show me something natural like a*s with some stretch marks.”In the video, he featured a woman with her natural hair, no weave, no makeup and she had stretch marks showing.

The feminists expressed outrage over on social media, noting that Kendrick was putting down a segment of females in an attempt to uplift others. One Twitter user wrote:

“Yal know I love Kendrick & Humble is ah-mazing. BUT that man is hella problematic when it’s comes to women. More specifically Black Women,” .

Quite a few of the feminists called Kendrick a misogynist, claiming that Kendrick’s misogyny is just as harmful as the more blatant examples heard in hip-hop.

“You guys just can’t handle that people (namely women) don’t like Kendrick despite his benevolent, incense coated misogyny,” another Twitter user said. The video has been viewed 28,274,294 views times.

The terrifying footage shows the robber, wearing a balaclava, burst into the office with a gun in one hand and a bag in the other. He hits a woman sitting at a desk over the back of the head with the weapon and then holds it to her head but rather than cower in fear, she springs at him and fights back.
Still fighting, she manages to force her way out of the office and raise the alarm forcing the robber to flee empty handed. The failed robbery happened in January but police have only just released the footage after arresting an alleged suspect.
