Nigerian man publicly appreciates his former boss who took him in as a househelp 14 years ago and paid his way through school
An educationist in Delta state, Zion Oshiobugie, has taken to his Facebook page to thank his former boss who took him in as a houseboy 14 years ago and ensured he got the education his biological children got as well. Read what Zion wrote below'
14 years ago, December 2004 to be precise I came to warri, Delta State to be the house boy (Domestic help) of @ndonyeka (Engr Nnamdi Onyeka & Dr Mrs Stephanie Onyeka).
D8 iffie estate, refinery road by Mega Hilton hotel was the house I stayed for 4 years. Engr Nnamdi never saw me as a second class citizen and as such he sent me to school instead of paying my parents for my service. I obtained OND from the petroleum training institute, Effurun while in his house as a domestic help. He payed my way through school. I stayed as his domestic help for 4 years 2004-2008.
Education unlocked my mind and broke the chains of poverty from my life hence my resolve to provide quality education for 20 million underprivileged children and orphans in my life time.
Long story short it's 14 years down the line and I still remian grateful for all you did for me sir. Help say a word of appreciation to him.
I end with a quote from mother Theresa. ' Love is not patronizing and charity isn't about pity, it is about love. Charity and love are the same -- with charity you give love, so don't just give money but reach out your hand instead'.

Killing and using female underwear for money ritual alien to Benin culture - Oba Ewuare II
The Oba of Benin, Oba Ewuare II, has warned Nigerian youths to shun money rituals. He spoke on Sunday during a thanksgiving service at the Holy Aruosa Cathedral in Benin to round off the 2018 annual Igue festival celebrations.
He said youths who cling to the illusion that they could become wealthy by killing people or stealing female underwear for ritual purposes would no doubt face the consequence. He added that the behaviour was abominable and alien to Benin customs and tradition.
The monarch interceded for Nigeria and her leaders and urged politicians and youths to shun acts that could undermine free, fair and credible elections in 2019 and also warned politicians to desist from violence and other acts inimical to the electoral process. He cautioned youths not to allow themselves to be used as political thugs to cause mayhem during elections.

'We will not leave Dino Melaye's home until he surrenders himself for arrest and investigation' - Nigerian Police insists
The Nigeria Police Force has said that its police operatives deployed to arrest Senator Dino Melaye in his residence will not retreat until the Senator surrenders himself for arrest and investigation.
The Police further said that Senator Dino Melaye is wanted by the Police for a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Attempted Culpable Homicide, committed on 19th July, 2018, when Senator Dino Melaye and his armed thugs attacked Police personnel; shot and wounded Sgt. Danjuma Saliu, attached to 37 Police Mobile Force (PMF) on stop and search duty along Aiyetoro Gbede, Mopa Road in Kogi State.
The Police in the statement signed by Ag. DCP Jimoh Moshood, Force Public Relations officer Force Headquarters Abuja said that ‘the operatives with a duly obtained Warrant of Arrest deployed to arrest Senator Dino Melaye in his residence in Abuja will not retreat until Senator Dino Melaye surrenders himself for arrest and investigation.
‘It is on record that the Police investigators submitted a Letter of Invitation dated 23rd July, 2018, signed by the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command addressed to the Clerk, National Assembly, Abuja, inviting Senator Dino Melaye to report on 26th July, 2018 at 1100Hrs at the Kogi State Police Command, CIID, Lokoja to answer to a case of Criminal Conspiracy and Attempted Culpable Homicide against him under investigation in the Kogi State Police Command.
The claim by the Senate President in the Media that the Police did not submit a letter of invitation to the Clerk of the National Assembly is therefore incorrect as can be seen on attached letter with acknowledgment stamp of the Clerk, National Assembly, Abuja “24 JUL 2018“. Jessie J shares very emotional tributes as she reveals her security guard and "rock" has died
Jessie J, 30, has shared a series of emotional posts to pay tribute to her security guard who died.
The singer revealed on Sunday that her bodyguard Dave has passed away. Sharing photos of them together, she wrote captions that were as touching as they were lengthy. The captions spoke about the memories they had shared together.
Jessie wrote:
The love you had for your children. Was everything. We would laugh till we cried nearly everyday. We created Penelope and the blue Shetland pony together. We talked about our dreams. We talked about what our biggest fears were. You weren’t just my security, we ARE family. 4 years. Me and you.
Remember when you got me the blue Shetland pony cake for the end of The Voice Aus. When we went to see fifty shades in Aus and giggled the whole way through. When you would text me when I was filming The Voice on the breaks to make me laugh. The late night walks we would take together to get some air. Who would shout “banana” quickest. When you came to see me when I was in hospital to cheer me up and I was out of it on anaesthetic and we again just laughed. You were so worried about me. You looked after me.
Working out by the side of the bus everyday before the tour. You would push me and tell me I could do better.
When you would do anything so I could see my fans waiting. You would always sort it out so it was safe for them and me.
When I was terrified on that flight from Dubai to London because of the turbulence and you held my hand for 8 hours. I will never forget that.
When we would go shopping and try on silly hats and glasses.
When you would carry me to stage because my shoes wouldn’t make it through the mud.
The way we laughed. I keep going back to that. We had so much fun Dave.
Your love for working out.
The way you would eat your meals and I would always wish I could be so disciplined. I am now. You inspired me.
Your love for your dogs.
Your love for tattoos.
Your love for travelling.
Your gentleness.
Your voice.
The way you stuck by me when everyone else left. It was me and you in Aus. You were my rock.
I wrote this because I want everyone to remember the man you were. You were a gentle giant with a heart so big everyone felt it.
I love you so much. We were supposed to meet for hot chocolate next week.
I miss you. I will see you on the other side one day. Rest easy Dave / give your Dad a hug from me ????
It is still not clear how Dave died.
Below are the tributes Jessie J shared in Dave's honour.

Buhari, Atiku, others must undergo mental health tests before 2019 elections – CUPP
The Coalition of United Political Parties has called for mental health tests for President Buhari; former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and all other candidates contesting the 2019 presidential election.
It said the test should be conducted by an independent team of experts in mental health issues. The coalition’s demand was contained in a statement by its first national spokesman, Imo Ugochinyere.
Ugochinyere said the test was necessary in order to ascertain the presidential candidates’ mental stability before elections, “so that any person who does not pass the examination should not be allowed to participate in the election.” He said the CUPP had secured the assurances of Atiku, who is contesting the election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, to subject himself to the medical test in the general interest of Nigeria.
`He urged Buhari to speak more to Nigerians and Nigerian journalists, especially through presidential media chat. He added, “CUPP also calls on President Buhari to face the Nigerian media and stop holding them in disdain as they are professionals and are renowned world over for their expertise. How could a President not speak to any Nigerian media house or journalist for over three years? How could a President hold his entire country’s media and citizens in such disdain that he speaks to them only through a crowd of spokespersons?
“Nigerians want to know the identities of the persons that write his speeches, their ideologies and their stake in the Nigerian project because, many a time, the President reads speeches that are not in tune with reality, as he did during the presentation of budget 2019 and was rightly booed by lawmakers. This medical examination is very necessary and all Nigerians of goodwill should join this call for the unveiling of the real facts behind this façade presented to Nigerians.”
