Matt Barnes wants his child support payments reduced from $20k a month to $2k per child
Former NBA star, Matt Barnes, who won primary custody of his two sons wants to adjust how much he pays in child support to his ex-wife and the mother of his two children, Gloria Govan.
According to documents obtained by The Blast, Barnes has scored 71% of the time with his twin sons. Govan only has them for 29% of the time, yet she collects $20,000 per month from Barnes in child support.
In the document, the ex-NBA star who got dirvorced from Gloria in 2016 argued that he is now retired from professional basketball, and his income is not what it was when the child support obligation was originally decided.
According to Barnes, he now makes around $150,000, and after using the court’s child support algorithm, he believes he should only be paying $2,798 per child for every month, a total annual payment of $67,148.
He’s asking that the court grant his request and allow the smaller payments.
