VIDEO: Bayomi – FIA (freestyle)
Rapper “Bayomi”  formerly known as “SplashJosh” who was born in Lagos, but spent most of his life in Detroit has his first work out in the year 2018.
In his words:
While some might say I took a break off music, I didn’t. I signed a management deal 2 years ago which allowed me to do some complete rebranding. I changed my name mostly because I wanted to be called something that had a meaning and something that embraces my culture. I wanted to be my real self, not a gimmick. I also have a logo for my brand and I now have my official website, which is up and running at bayomimusic.com, where you can purchase merchandise clothing and more etc.
FIA for me was the best song that came out in 2017 and till this day, it’s still on replay so it only makes sense to jump on the beat as a come back to the scene and to share the moment with Davido.
A new Mixtape is already done for later this year, more music videos are on the way as well.

Africans in Israel paint their faces white to avoid deportation

Africans in Israel have been given "deportation notices" and those who failed to leave were imprisoned at the Saharonim prison in the south of Israel.

To protest the deportation, inmates at the Holot prison in the Negev desert first embarked on a hunger strike. African migrants also went out into the streets, protesting in front of embassies like that of Rwanda, and hoping to pressure officials to end their expulsion.

Africans involved in the demonstration painted their faces white, suggesting they were being sent into danger because Israel didn’t believe their black lives mattered. The protesters carried placards on which was written words like, "Now I'm White. Will you deport me?", "Do Black lives matter?", and "Deported to death because I'm Black".

The government of Israel has proposed giving each migrant $3,500 to leave, with the option of going home or to a third country. If they don’t leave by end of March, migrants face indefinite incarceration. Immigration officials are also hiring civilian inspectors to help investigate and arrest the migrants.

Israel’s plan to return refugees has drawn criticism from human rights advocates both in and outside the country. Academics, activists, and prominent Israeli writers have called on prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu not to deport the asylum seekers, saying the nation has “no refugee problem.”

Sick! Turkish president tells crying 6-year-old girl in army uniform she will be honored if she’s killed while fighting for the country

The Turkish President has come under fire after he was filmed telling a 6-year-old crying girl that she would be honoured if she was killed while fighting for Turkey.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan was delivering a speech at his ruling party’s congress in the city of Kahramanmaras on Saturday when he spotted tearful six-year-old Amine Tiras. He asked for her to be brought on stage and when she joined him, he kissed her on the cheeks to comfort her.

He then said to the crowd: "She has the Turkish flag in her pocket. If she becomes a martyr, God willing, this flag will be draped on her."

People were outraged by Erdogan's statement and took to Twitter to criticise the president. One user said it was the state’s duty to protect children, not to "kill" them.

Another said: "you don’t wish death for a child, you never say: 'God willing'."

In recent weeks, children dressed in commando uniforms or reciting nationalist poems have been making appearances in many events attended by the president. Yasar Okutan, a former government minister, accused Erdogan in a television interview of using children to increase votes in presidential and local elections in 2019. He questioned whether the president would have made the statement about being "martyred" to his own granddaughter.

Greed, self-interest behind executive, legislature conflict'' VP Yemi Osinbajo says

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has attributed the disagreements between the executive and the legislature to greed, self-interest and hypocrisy. Speaking at a “Dialogue of Organs of Government on Reform of Justice Sector and Campaign Against Corruption” involving the Executive, Legislature and Judiciary organised by the Presidential Advisory Committee Against Corruption (PACAC) in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Justice which held at the State House Banquet Hall yesterday February 27th, Osinbajo said despite the principles of separation of powers, there were still tensions and conflicts among the arms of government, especially between the executive and the National Assembly.

“Various factors can be identified as the causes of conflicts between organs of government, especially between the legislature and executive who have to constantly interact in the course of discharging their respective constitutional duties. Conflicts could arise from misunderstanding of constitutional responsibilities, inordinate foray or venture by one organ into the territory of another organ, inordinate ambition or domineering attitude by one over others, power struggle, greed or self- interest, hypocrisy, lack of patriotism and corruption.”

The vice president, who was represented by the Deputy Chief of Staff to the President, Mr. Ade Ipaye, said while absolute separation of powers may be unattainable, the three arms of government must cooperate to maintain a workable government.

“When this cooperation happens, it strengthens the democratic process, promotes good governance and responsible leadership, promotes transparency and accountability in governance, assists the executive to be focused and committed to delivering good governance to the citizens and helps the legislature to make efficient laws that will promote good governance and curb corruption,” he said.

Osinbajo said for there to be harmony, each arm must carry out the functions assigned to it by the Constitution effectively and within the limits of its power

Nigerian Army replies Yobe governor'' We did not abandon #Dapchi security, we handed it over to the Nigerian police''

Over the weekend, the Yobe state governor, Ibrahim Gaidam, accused the military of withdrawing troops from Yobe community community one week before Boko Haram members attacked the Government Girls Science Technical College in Dapchi and abducted 110 of the female students. Governor Gaidam had posited that if the military had not withdrawn its men, the unfortunate incident wouldn't have happened.

The Nigerian Army has now released a statement refuting the governor's claim. According to the Army, its men that were earlier stationed in Dapchi were redeployed to another area due to fresh Boko Haram attacks and the security of Dapchi was handed over to the police division in the area. Read the statement below

The attention of Headquarters Theatre Command Operations LAFIYA DOLE, has been drawn to a statement credited to His Excellency Alhaji (Dr) Ibrahim Gaidam, Executive Governor of Yobe State, currently circulating in the media, in which he reportedly alleged that the withdrawal of the military was responsible for the recent suspected Boko Haram terrorists' attack and abduction of female students from Government Girls Science Technical College in Dapchi . This allegation is not only unfortunate, but also very far from the truth

Although this Headquarters will not attempt to join in any blame game, it is very expedient to set the record straight for the benefit of posterity. In carrying out its mandate to counter terrorism and insurgency in north eastern Nigeria, Operation Lafiya Dole has been alive to its responsibilities vis a vis the fight against Boko Haram insurgents. Several communities and Local Governments that were hitherto under siege of the insurgents have been liberated and the insurgents pushed out . While troops continue to trail and decimate the remnants of the insurgents in the hinterlands, the security of the liberated communities and towns fall in the hands of the sister security agencies. The recent dislodgement and further decimation of the insurgents from their enclaves in the Sambisa and the Lake Chad Islands are testimonials to the effective operations of troops against the insurgents. Additionally, troops are regularly conducting long range patrols, raids and ambushes to canalise and take out fleeing insurgents. Given all these efforts, it is very astonishing and shocking that such unfortunate comment and allegation is been touted against the loyal and dedicated troops of Operation Lafiya Dole.

Contrary to the comments being circulated, troops earlier deployed in Dapchi were redeployed to reinforce troops at Kanama following attacks on troops' location at the Nigerian - Nigerien border. This was on the premise that Dapchi has been relatively calm and peaceful and the security of Dapchi town was formally handed over to the Nigeria Police Division located in the town. Troops' redeployment was therefore done in tandem with the exigencies of operation and not as misconstrued.

It is thus obligatory, to state that the allegation reportedly attributed to the Governor of Yobe state is misleading and misinforming. We reiterate our commitment and determination to carrying out our mandate to fight Boko Haram terrorists in the north east. We also implore members of the public to continue to support us with credible information on the whereabouts of the Boko Haram terrorists. We would also like to assure the parents, government and the good people of Yobe State and indeed members of the public that we will not rest on our oars in the search and rescue of the abducted school girls and any other persons held captive by the terrorists.

Please disseminate this information to the general public through your news medium.
Thank you for your cooperation

Morocco’s King Mohammed undergoes successful heart surgery

Yesterday, Morocco’s King Mohammed VI underwent a successful heart surgery in France, state news agency MAP said.

The 54-year old king was treated at a Ambroise Paré Clinic in Paris after suffering from a “heart rhythm disorder” on January 20, the agency said, adding he had been diagnosed with an “atrial flutter”. The surgery normalised the heart rhythm, and the king would be able to resume his duties without any restrictions.

The news agency also published the photograph of the King on the hospital bed, surrounded by relations. Here is the full statement as published by the agency: “HM the king had on Saturday 20th January 2018 a heart rhythm disorder. The doctors of HM the King said that medical examinations carried out for this purpose revealed an atrial flutter. The ablation by radio frequency of this arrhythmia, performed today at the Ambroise Paré clinic in Paris, allowed the normalization of the heart rhythm. At the end of a rest period as prescribed by his treating physicians, HM the King will resume his normal activities without any restriction.”

Statement by the medical team composed of: Dr Abdelaziz Maouni, Dr Olivier Thomas, Dr Sébastien Bloc, Dr Olivier Dubourg, Dr Ali Chaib, Dr Lahcen Belyamani. The king, who heads the Muslim world’s longest-serving dynasty, took office in 1999 after his father, Hassan II, died of a heart attack.

The political and social stability of Morocco is closely watched by Western governments as it is the only country in North Africa where jihadist groups have failed to gain a foothold, and is an important partner against Islamist militancy in terms of intelligence-sharing.

The kingdom has escaped mass uprisings such as in Egypt, Libya or other Arab countries, but protests have erupted since 2016 in some rural areas against poverty and unemployment. Morocco has averted previous protests with a combination of limited constitutional reforms, heavy policing and hefty public spending.
